About the Role

EC Markets is seeking a hands-on Platform/DevOps Lead to own infrastructure-as-code, automate processes, and ensure the reliable deployment of changes across their trading applications, CRM, AI services, websites, and data platforms. The role involves managing infrastructure end-to-end using Terraform and AWS CDK, with a primary focus on establishing a cleanly separated production environment and a credible promotion path.

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure-as-code across the estate using Terraform and AWS CDK.
• Drive consistency, reusability, and testing in IaC practices.
• Establish a production environment with a safe and repeatable promotion path from development.
• Build and harden CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for predictable and reversible deployments.
• Automate operational tasks such as secret provisioning, rotation, and drift detection.
• Manage and provision the AWS footprint including networking, ECS Fargate, DMS, S3, IAM, Secrets Manager, and EventBridge.
• Own observability and reliability, implementing CloudWatch alarms, dashboards, and automated recovery.
• Manage Snowflake as code, including integrations, RBAC, SSO, and data masking.
• Set standards for trusted code through code reviews, testing, and repeatable deploys.
• Partner with product and data engineers to facilitate rapid, safe deployments.

Requirements

• Deep Terraform experience, including multi-provider setups, reusable modules, and remote state management.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience with networking, containers (ECS/Fargate), IAM, S3, Secrets Manager, and event-driven scheduling.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, OIDC-based cloud auth, container builds, and multi-environment delivery.
• Docker fluency, including building, slimming, tagging, and shipping images.
• Deep understanding of VPC, Subnets, Routing, Gateways, and trust boundaries.
• Comfortable using Python and Bash for system integration and automation.
• Strong security instincts, including secrets management and least-privilege IAM.
• Ability to read and understand Python, TypeScript, and Java to debug pipelines.
• A bias towards shipping and automation, preferring automation over manual processes.
• Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps or Platform engineer.
• Excellent understanding of networking and AWS cloud.
• Knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST) applied in practice.
• Experience with DevOps tooling, automation, and secure system design.
