About the Role

The Senior Manager, Accounting & FP&A will be a key member of the Finance team, playing a crucial role in financial reporting, month-end closing, and business partnering across G&A functions. This position requires in-depth knowledge of accounting, internal controls, and experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting. Success requires collaboration with peers, auditors, and strategic partners, along with effective communication across various management levels and external service providers. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker and proactive problem-solver with a collaborative mindset and a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage general ledger accounts for G&A departments, ensuring accurate and timely financial month-end close.
  • Record journal entries, review account reconciliations and roll-forwards, and perform detailed account analyses.
  • Partner with G&A department leaders to deliver monthly financial reporting and support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
  • Supervise and approve cash disbursements to third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls.
  • Partner with the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely recording of payroll-related journal entries and reconciliation of payroll accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting to the parent company.
  • Support internal and external audit processes, including documentation and response to inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal accounting policies.
  • Drive process improvements and promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on operational roles within industry.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech sector is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting systems; ideally with NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, and Concur.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required, including proficiency with lookup functions, PivotTables, and handling large data sets.
  • The ability to communicate effectively through various means to a broad range of individuals at all levels.
  • Highly organized with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines to the desired standard.
  • A motivated self-starter that is quick to learn and takes responsibility for day-to-day activities with minimal input and direction.
  • Analytical and proactive with a problem-solving mindset and focus on continuous improvement.
