About the Role

Wilson Elser is seeking a Legal AI Specialist to manage the creation, organization, and deployment of AI-based knowledge assets, enabling legal professionals to work more efficiently. This role serves as a firmwide subject matter expert on AI, focusing on user enablement, adoption, and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to identify user and business needs addressable by AI solutions.
  • Consult with stakeholders to identify areas where AI can improve quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to embed AI into existing daily workflows.
  • Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape for AI-related developments.
  • Manage vendor relationships with external AI solution providers.
  • Integrate AI and automation tools like Harvey AI and Lexis Protégé into workflows.
  • Serve as a resource for prompt engineering, designing, testing, and refining prompts for Generative AI tools.
  • Monitor and report on AI technology developments and their practical applications in the legal industry.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of AI best practices.
  • Research the impact of AI solutions on individuals, teams, and the firm.
  • Identify use cases and create prompts/workflows with attorneys and staff.
  • Curate and maintain a library of crowdsourced prompts and workflows.
  • Develop and maintain user-friendly resources such as prompt libraries, guides, FAQs, and video tutorials.
  • Plan and conduct product awareness and user enablement events.
  • Align change and enablement activities with broader product lifecycle management.
  • Draft and distribute communications about new features, updates, and adoption tips.
  • Champion adoption of AI and practice tools by engaging directly with lawyers and staff.
  • Track usage and adoption data, preparing reports on successes and areas for improvement.
  • Collect and synthesize user feedback, escalating issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of Knowledge Management and innovation through presentations and training.
  • Serve as a trusted knowledge partner, providing guidance on AI initiatives and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders and KM colleagues to develop user-centric solutions.
  • Stay current with knowledge, legal technology, law firm business, and legal trends.

Experience Level

  • 3+ years of combined experience in legal practice, legal technology, legal operations, professional training, and/or practice support related to AI
  • Prior experience with artificial intelligence applications and/or technology in a business setting required
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney strongly preferred, particularly with a litigation or other high-volume law practice background

Education Level

  • J.D. from an accredited law school required

Salary/Compensations

  • $135,000—$165,000 USD
