About the Role
As a Claims Broker in our Special Risks team, you will handle claims matters from First Notice of Loss to Settlement. You will support your Line Manager, brokers, and work directly with Underwriters and Coverholders to fulfill their Claims needs.
Responsibilities
- Review and enter individual claims and post received onto Global XB and CLASS within SLA timelines.
- Convey Underwriters’ responses to the correct party in a timely manner and respond to queries.
- Maintain and update a claims diary.
- Provide Loss runs when requested.
- Monitor the processing of Claims bdx by the Cheltenham based team to ensure deadlines are met.
- Monitor Loss funds, ensuring DCAs have sufficient funds and returning available funds to Underwriters.
- Develop and maintain effective relations with the Cheltenham based team, providing guidance as required.
- Build working relationships with Underwriters, DCAs, Attorneys, and Experts.
- Collaborate with Account Handlers and Brokers on their claim’s requirements.
- Manage Claims Data and analytics.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records.
- Undertake any other responsibilities that may become necessary to fulfil this role.
Requirements
- Claims Broking Experience
- Working knowledge of the Lloyd’s and company markets
- Awareness of current Lloyd’s initiatives
- Working knowledge of the role of a DCA
- Experience in Binding Authorities
- Working knowledge of ECF
- Knowledge of the Xchanging process for Signing Claims
- Microsoft Office Skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Good spoken and written communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident and efficient in dealing with large datasets
- Team working ability
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of USA property insurance
- Understanding of regulatory requirements in the territories concerned
- Working towards a Certificate in Insurance or higher
