About the Role
Texas Oncology is seeking a Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Radiation department at the South Austin location. This full-time, Monday-Friday position offers a supportive work environment with no weekends or major holidays. The role can be filled at a Level 1, 2, or Sr based on the candidate's experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care, promoting continuity.
- Assess patient health status through interviews regarding current status and medical history.
- Identify patient and family needs, providing education and instructional materials.
- Offer psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
- Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information.
- Coordinate services and facilitate communication between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Assist patients in finding community resources.
- Act as a resource for LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
