About the Role

Launch your software engineering career at CMC Markets and help build the next generation of AI-powered financial technology. Responsibilities

• Embed within an established engineering squad as a contributing software engineer, learning by working on real systems alongside experienced developers.
• Begin in the Execution Squad, contributing to day-to-day Agile delivery, BAU development, and production support.
• Build practical experience across the CMC trading platform, SDLC, engineering standards, and regulated software development.
• Develop technical capability and financial markets knowledge.
• Work on real AI projects and experiment with emerging technologies.
• Apply AI concepts to real business challenges, including building AI capabilities that bring together information from enterprise platforms and transform it into useful, business-ready insights.
• Contribute to future projects ranging from AI-powered intelligence and reporting to exploring how AI can transform unstructured information into structured data for integration with trading technology.

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Having recently graduated (within two years of application date) or completing your relevant tertiary study in 2026.
• A willingness to experiment, learn and iterate.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• A passion for programming and a keen interest in Financial Services, trading technology.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills.
• Eligibility to work in Australia permanently.
