About the Role
The Business Director (BD) is a key leader responsible for driving business stability and growth within an assigned portfolio of clients, new business, and staff. This role involves full P&L and revenue delivery responsibilities, ensuring the quality of agency output both strategically and creatively, and contributing to the overall strategic direction and day-to-day management of the agency.
Responsibilities
- Manage client portfolios, including new business and staff, with full P&L and revenue delivery responsibilities.
- Ensure the quality of agency output, both strategically and creatively.
- Collaborate with senior management on agency strategic direction and daily management.
- Participate in new business development, talent development, and staff coaching.
- Build strong working relationships with senior client personnel.
- Develop and refine business development strategies.
- Manage client briefs, projects, and requests.
- Present and pitch agency services to potential clients.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and activities.
- Maintain strategic relationships with client leadership.
- Understand client business models and challenges.

Requirements
- A minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in communications or a related field, with a strong preference for experience within the advertising or marketing industry.
- Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams.
- Proven track record of leadership excellence and success in building and retaining talent.
- Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently engage and influence high-level executives internally and externally.
- Highly goal-oriented, organized, and dedicated approach to all aspects of work.
- Strong understanding of P&L management, financial acumen, and revenue generation strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of brand management, strategic planning, customer engagement, and customer management principles.
