About the Role
Oliver Wyman's Transportation & Advanced Industrials Practice (TAI) serves clients globally across sectors like Aerospace & Defence, Automotive, Aviation, Industrial Goods, Logistics, and Rail. We are seeking experienced professionals to support our significant growth in these areas, acting as a pure player in strategy consulting with deep industry and discipline-specific knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Deliver client engagements, taking ownership of major workstreams from problem structuring through analysis, synthesis, and recommendation development.
- Work independently to solve complex problems, manage priorities, and ensure work is rigorous, relevant, and actionable.
- Collaborate closely with clients and senior team members.
- Support and coach junior colleagues.
- Break down complex problems into discrete tasks, identifying key aspects and directing the focus of junior consultants.
- Effectively plan and execute analysis.
- Identify core issues in complex analyses to craft suitable recommendations.
- Work side by side with clients and project team members to move projects forward.
- Manage small teams to get work done.
- Provide unique insight into chosen subject areas.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or industry experience from a strategy department or inhouse consulting.
- In-depth knowledge of TAI sectors.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
- Ability to conduct and leverage sophisticated analyses to identify trends, draw conclusions and present recommendations.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both formal and informal settings.
- Fluency in English and German language is required.
- Willingness to travel.
- Ability to take initiative, seeking out opportunities to learn new skills and apply existing ones.
- Creativity to come up with novel ideas to solve clients' problems.
- Aptitude for analytical work, including analyzing large datasets and identifying key issues in complex challenges.
