About the Role
The BWS Marketing team is looking for a sharp Content Specialist to own our social channels and help bring our content strategy to life. You’ll manage agency partnerships, drive influencer relationships, and act as our eyes and ears for all things pop culture. You’ll lead shoots for social content and work with the wider BWS team to pitch creative ideas.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day execution of the BWS social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
- Manage publishing calendars, ensuring content is timely, engaging, and aligned with campaigns and cultural moments.
- Translate overarching brand campaigns into social-first executions that drive participation and cultural relevance.
- Maintain BWS’s distinct social tone of voice and ensure creative consistency across all platforms.
- Own the production and delivery of campaign comms assets for key initiatives like Cool Room, Nice Drops, and BWYASSS.
- Brief and coordinate with creative agencies on the development of EDMs, retail media screens, homepage banners, e-comm assets, and POS comms.
- Manage timelines and approvals to ensure assets land on time, in line with brand guidelines and campaign strategy.
- Complement agency production by capturing and editing original, "social-first" content (Reels, TikToks) to fill gaps in the calendar or react to real-time trends.
- Act as the team’s go-to trend spotter, identifying memes and cultural moments that BWS can authentically lean into.
- Manage BWS social community engagement, responding to audience interactions in our brand voice and escalating issues as needed.
- Identify and leverage UGC, trends, and competitor activity to keep BWS content fresh, relevant, and ahead of the curve.
- Collaborate with E-comm, Trade, and Retail Media teams to integrate social content into the full marketing ecosystem, trade planning cycle, and commercial opportunities.
- Track social performance across reach, engagement, shares, saves, and sentiment to inform future content decisions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in social media / digital marketing (retail, drinks, fashion, lifestyle brand, or agency-side experience is a huge plus).
- Proven experience managing large social communities, creating original content, and growing organic audiences.
- Strong social copywriting skills with a sharp eye for brand tone and nuances.
- You live and breathe social media and are always ahead of the curve on emerging trends.
- Mastery of CapCut and native platform editing tools, with the ability to turn raw footage into high-engagement content quickly.
- Comfortable in front of the camera when required—whether hosting quick BTS recaps at events or jumping on relevant trending formats.
- Proactive, adaptable, and a practical problem solver who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong stakeholder management abilities.
- Deep familiarity with both the Australian & international social media landscapes, including creator networks and influencers.
- Solid experience working with social analytics and native platform insight tools.
- Highly organised, reliable, and excited to be part of a close-knit, high-performing team.
