About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering holistic, person-centred healthcare services to detainees. Working collaboratively with medical practitioners, allied health professionals and other healthcare team members, you will support the assessment, planning, coordination and delivery of healthcare services that promote wellbeing and positive health outcomes. This role offers a diverse clinical workload and the opportunity to utilise a broad range of nursing skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, develop care plans, and deliver evidence-based nursing care, including chronic disease management.
  • Perform clinical procedures including medication administration, immunisations, wound care, blood collection, and other nursing interventions.
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and external healthcare providers while delivering health education and promotion.

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-registration clinical experience.
  • Experience in drug and alcohol, primary healthcare, correctional, detention, or other complex care settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
