About the Role
The Manager Tax Reporting role is within the Fund Services Team, a client-focused business servicing Asset Owners and Asset Managers. This role involves overseeing established offshore tax operations, focusing on value-add activities, meeting client needs, and maintaining technical regulatory requirements within a global banking environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a consistently high standard of client services to fund managers and institutional clients.
- Provide consultative advice to offshore operations teams, using local Fund Services knowledge and Funds specific tax expertise.
- Manage and oversee Tax Services, including the review of distributions, tax returns and BAS, to ensure professional presentation of tax calculations to clients.
- Actively participate in projects with Product and Operations regarding requirements to support new business and existing clients with tax regulatory change.
- Continuously enhance services to clients to deepen relationships, leveraging technological and system advances in Tax Services.
- Embrace personal development to constantly challenge and uplift professional development.
- Motivate and coach staff on and offshore to maintain client deliverables.
- Be aware of Operational Risk scenarios associated with the role and act accordingly.
Requirements
- Significant tax operational experience in Managed Investment Schemes / Fund Services and its application to investment accounting, valuation, distribution calculations and tax returns.
- Ability to provide professional guidelines to clients on Australian tax matters, underpinned by a sound understanding of Australian Tax law.
- Genuine client focus with strong interpersonal skills, enabling the development and maintenance of strong internal and external client relationships.
- Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
