About the Role
This position contributes to academic excellence and strategic development at Gisma University of Applied Sciences through teaching, research, and community engagement. The role involves shaping and delivering programs in Sustainable Operations, Green Logistics, and Supply Chain Analytics, focusing on circular economy, decarbonization, and smart logistics. It offers engagement with an international student body and collaboration with industry and research partners.
Responsibilities
- Module responsibility and teaching of Bachelor and Master programmes in Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Green Logistics, Global Operations Strategy, Supply Chain Analytics, and circular economy methodologies.
- Examination, assessments, and student supervision.
- Active participation in programme development, quality assurance, and integration of applied tools and methodologies.
- Design and continuous update of contemporary teaching and learning materials.
- Initiate, expand, and maintain cooperation with industry and research partners.
- Participation in national and international accreditation procedures.
- Active engagement in academic administration and committee work.
- Further development of a personal and institutional research profile in Sustainable Operations, Green Logistics Performance, Circular Economy Frameworks, or Decarbonized Supply Networks.
- Publication of research results in high-quality journals and public dissemination.
- Support outreach activities, including student recruitment events and promotion of related business study pathways.
Requirements
- Fulfil all requirements according to Section 41 ff of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG).
- Completed university studies in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Engineering, Operations Research, Business Administration with an operations focus, or Sustainability Management.
- Proof of extraordinary qualification for scientific work via an outstanding doctorate and/or a strong record of high-impact, peer-reviewed publications.
- Minimum of three years of qualified professional experience, with at least two years outside a university environment, gained after a master's degree or equivalent.
- Proven university-level teaching experience with competence in blended, online, and interactive learning methodologies.
- Excellent pedagogical aptitude as reflected in student evaluations.
- Strong affinity for cutting-edge methodologies, software, and tools related to sustainable logistics planning, green supply chain optimization, and carbon footprint accounting.
- Fluency in English for teaching and research purposes.
- A publication record in fields matching the professorship scope or relevant digital ecosystems.
- Experience in developing and leading research projects, ideally with success in acquiring third-party funding.
- Innovative perspectives for advancing research and curriculum in the specified professorship domain.
- Experience in curriculum development and accreditation processes is an asset.
