About the Role

On Lok PACE is a non-profit organization dedicated to the care of elders through the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). We aim to improve the lives of seniors with chronic care needs and their families by providing comprehensive services in their community. Your expertise can help us advance healthcare and improve lives.

Responsibilities

  • Assists cooks to prepare center meals and other foods as necessary to complete meals.
  • Portions individual items as necessary and readies any special requests prior to service.
  • Serves food to participants in the dining room and dishes.
  • Packages and ships meals and supplements to be delivered to participants at home.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures, including proper body mechanics, universal precautions, and environmental safety.
  • Follows all infection control and sanitation policies and procedures, including proper food handling, storage, service, and cleaning.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Interest, demonstrated ability and/or experience in working with the elderly.
  • Understanding of the nutritional needs and preferences of participants.
  • One-year experience working with the elderly or frail population required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must be dependable, alert, flexible, and creative.
  • English required; Cantonese preferred.
  • Ability to stoop, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions of the wrist and hands.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Consideration for employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records, pursuant to San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and federal PACE requirements.
