About the Role
The Configuration Control Rep II will support the production of aerospace control electronics for commercial and military applications, regularly engaging with engineers and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
- Operate and support Windchill PLM and JIRA/Bitbucket toolchains.
- Manage product structures, change requests, and software builds throughout the product lifecycle.
- Aid in data migration, validation, and tool upgrade activities.
- Provide training, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement.
- Enforce Configuration Management Plans; ensure compliance with BAE Systems policy, export-control markings, and standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
- Create/maintain user accounts, configure permissions, troubleshoot PLM issues, and support product-structure updates.
- Set up projects, manage workflows, monitor CI/CD pipelines, and resolve configuration-related tickets.
- Build and maintain hierarchical BOMs, part-numbering schemes, and baseline configurations.
- Draft, edit, and maintain A-size Microsoft Word engineering documents.
- Convert final documents to PDF and upload them to Windchill.
- Initiate internal review routing following BAE Systems standards.
- Create the associated part object in Windchill and route that part for review.
- Create, Maintain, and Review Bill of Materials in Windchill.
- Publish, version, and archive engineering drawings, specifications, and test data.
- Process Engineering Change Requests (CRs), Engineering Change Orders, and Software Changes from creation through release.
- Import/export of data between legacy systems and Windchill; verify integrity and resolve discrepancies.
- Aid in pilot testing, integration testing, and rollout of PLM upgrades or new CM tools.
- Ensure all data, drawings, and software are properly labeled for ITAR/EAR and BAE Systems proprietary markings.
- Analyze CM processes for efficiency gains, cost reduction, and risk mitigation; develop SOPs and training material.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Windchill (PLM) and JIRA/Bitbucket (or comparable tools).
- Understanding of hardware, firmware, and software configuration concepts (baseline, revision, traceability).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word/ Office and PDF creation.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Independent judgment & discretion when interpreting policies, especially export-control and ITAR/EAR.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
