About the Role
This role will steward the implementation and operation of a scalable, regulator-ready prudential regulatory compliance program to support bank charter readiness, beginning with Regulations W and O. This role combines strategic program design with operational execution, ensuring Mercury can establish and run a prudential compliance program aligned with regulatory expectations and a digital-first business model.
Responsibilities
- Implement and operate Mercury’s first prudential regulatory compliance program for banking, focusing initially on Regulations W and O, including policies, procedures, governance framework, transactional controls, and ongoing monitoring activities.
- Interface directly with and advise Mercury’s senior management on the permissibility/advisability of proposed transactions.
- Engage and partner deeply with stakeholders across the organization, including Legal, Finance, People/HR, and Credit.
- Play a pivotal role in shaping how Mercury’s most business-critical transactions come together in a safe and sound manner.
- Educate and grow Mercury’s compliance culture, awareness of prudential regulatory obligations, and best-in-class practices via training and guidance to bank staff regarding prudential regulatory requirements.
- Maintain records and documentation on all prudential regulatory compliance activities and programs.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of experience in building and/or operating prudential compliance programs, including Regulations W and O.
- Strong understanding of prudential regulations and regulatory expectations.
- Well-versed in representing program outputs and decisions to senior executives, internal auditors, prudential regulators, and other third parties/stakeholders.
- High quality bar and a strong sense of ownership; see things through to completion.
- Collaborative, problem-solving mindset with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Excited about using technology, including artificial intelligence, to enhance capabilities and advance the profession.

- US employees outside of New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $146,700 - $183,400
- Canadian employees (any location): CAD 154,100 - 192,600
