About the Role
Agora Energiewende is seeking a student assistant to support the Germany team in data processing, analysis, and visualization for studies, analyses, and presentations within the electricity program. This role involves contributing to quantitative analyses on current climate and energy policy issues, supporting data infrastructure development, preparing study results for the public, and assisting with research projects, meetings, and events.
Responsibilities
- Support data processing, analysis, and visualization for studies, analyses, and presentations in the electricity program as part of the Germany team.
- Assist in creating quantitative analyses on current climate and energy policy issues.
- Support the further development of the data infrastructure.
- Help prepare study results for the political public.
- Provide organizational support for research projects and assist with meetings and events.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an advanced Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Energy Economics, Economics, Natural Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering.
- Enjoy and have a passion for processing, analyzing, and visualizing energy industry datasets.
- Possess initial programming skills, particularly in Python, and some experience with SQL, VS-Code, and Github.
- Ideally have some prior exposure to the energy industry.
- Understanding and passion for the political processes surrounding the energy transition are advantageous.
- Exhibit an open communication style and openness to working in a diverse and intercultural organization.
- Excellent written and spoken German and English skills.
