About the Role
Perplexity is seeking its first Sales Enablement hire to build the function for its Enterprise, Commercial, and BDR teams. This role owns how sellers ramp, tell the Perplexity story, and improve quarterly. It is an individual contributor role reporting into Sales leadership, requiring hands-on strategy setting, curriculum writing, demo recording, battlecard building, and call review facilitation. The role involves close partnership with Sales leadership, AI Strategists, Product, Product Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Strategic Finance.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute a repeatable onboarding program for new BDRs, Commercial AEs, and Enterprise AEs, defining ramp standards and targets.
- Own the first 30/60/90 day plan for new sellers, including product, pitch, demo, tooling, and territory readiness.
- Implement feedback loops to continuously improve the onboarding program.
- Codify the Perplexity Enterprise, Commercial, and API pitch into a unified, current narrative.
- Build and maintain the standard demo flow for each product surface, ensuring it remains current.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing on positioning, use cases, buyer personas, and vertical narratives.
- Run a regular enablement cadence, including weekly rep-facing sessions, monthly deep dives, and quarterly kickoffs.
- Develop a live call-review and coaching program using recorded calls to reinforce best practices and identify areas of difficulty.
- Manage the enablement content library, including playbooks, talk tracks, objection handling, competitive battlecards, and ROI framing.
- Translate product releases into actionable field guidance on messaging, target audience, and supporting proof points.
- Build a launch process to quickly and consistently translate product updates into field readiness.
- Partner with Sales leadership to select and operationalize a qualification and deal-management framework.
- Develop role-specific skill programs focusing on discovery, multi-threading, negotiation, executive presence, and technical selling.
- Define enablement accountability metrics, including ramp time to first deal, certification pass rates, win rates, content adoption, and coaching consistency.
- Report on enablement metrics and discontinue programs that do not contribute to goals.
Requirements
- 6+ years in sales enablement, sales training, sales operations, or a quota-carrying/sales-adjacent role at a B2B software company.
- Demonstrated experience building or scaling enablement functions from inception.
- Strong ability to translate complex, fast-moving technical products into compelling sales narratives.
- Proficiency in running coaching and call reviews with sellers and Sales leadership.
