About the Role
Powerback is seeking a Vent Program Manager to oversee respiratory therapy services, ensuring efficient management of clinical services, personnel, account operations, and financial performance. This role is crucial for delivering timely and appropriate patient care, managing billing and payroll, and enhancing Powerback Respiratory's reputation as a premier provider.
Responsibilities
- Manage the overall operations of the Respiratory Care Program, including 24-hour coverage, staffing, equipment use, billing, and payroll within budget.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agency standards.
- Interview, hire, orient, counsel, and develop respiratory staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate performance appraisals and that staff maintain up-to-date credentials.
- Provide education on facility and organizational protocols.
- Coordinate meetings with staff.
- Schedule staff to ensure appropriate coverage based on census, workload, and budgeted hours.
- Deliver treatment and care as necessitated by staffing levels.
- Oversee monthly revenue and expenses, ensuring accurate billing and reporting.
- Support A/R collection efforts.
- Conduct facility rounds to ensure patient criteria, goal appropriateness, and timely completion of care plans and re-evaluations.
- Manage customer relationships and work to build customer satisfaction.
- Report complaints, findings, and resolutions to the Area Director.
- Establish good working relationships with assigned facility staff.
- Submit quarterly respiratory quality assurance reports.
- Participate in customer census development.
- Assist in enhancing Powerback Respiratory's status through sales activities like presentations and trade shows.
- Attend facility meetings such as care plan, utilization, review, rehabilitation, and quality assurance.
- Establish communication networks with Managed Care Caseworkers for approved care and reimbursement.
- Coordinate and provide in-service education and training for facility staff.
- Initiate plans of correction for deficiencies.
- Assist in reviewing and facilitating consistency in facility Policy and Procedure Manuals.
- Oversee QA/QI and ventilator outcome collection.
- Ensure supplies and equipment are available and maintained for timely care delivery.
- Monitor and maintain clinical protocols for respiratory staff.
- Coordinate facility training programs supporting clinical protocols.
- Work with the implementation team to ensure coordination of new program start-ups and multi-site customers.
Requirements
- Completion of a NBRC approved and accredited program in respiratory therapy.
- Three years of clinical practice experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
- Current State Licensure for a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- A minimum of one year of management/supervisory experience is preferred.
