About the Role

Administers, develops, and researches the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Configures the system to meet ongoing business needs and generates reports to support HR functions. The primary focus for this role will be to identify gaps, reconcile, maintain accuracy, generate reports, and help analyze Human Resources data. This position requires solid organizational and analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert for the HRIS system
  • Serve as an escalation point for end-users who are experiencing difficulties with HRIS
  • Assist managers with processing Personnel Action Forms (PAF)
  • Assist employees with changing/updating personnel profile and/or payroll information
  • Develop and perform regular audits of HRIS
  • Create spreadsheets, tables, and visual aids to demonstrate data trends and format data for reporting
  • Develop, document, and maintain system admin procedures, and employee resource guides
  • Recommend solutions to resolve identified issues
  • Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting to employees, including handling technical errors and general questions pertaining to the HRIS, including manager access issues
  • Maintain the day-to-day functions of the HRIS
  • Manage HRIS by implementing and modifying system requirements to meet business needs
  • Assist the HR team with ad-hoc requests and other special projects as needed

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally and discreetly with extremely confidential information
  • Highly proficient in MS software
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint Skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Project management ability
  • Ability to prioritize work
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Flexibility in daily schedule
  • Ability to understand and react quickly to changing priorities
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift to 5 pounds at times
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
  • Strong understanding of the NYC homeless shelter system (including working knowledge)
