About the Role
The New York Stock Exchange is hiring a Senior C/C++ Developer to build high-throughput, low-latency trading systems. This role involves the full software development lifecycle and close collaboration with business teams to meet strategic goals. The developer will deliver low-latency, high-capacity applications and independently develop and productionize machine learning models for trading infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements and propose technical solutions within cost, time, and quality targets.
- Collaborate with project managers to build work breakdown structures and provide estimates.
- Develop and unit test new or modified functionality following best practices.
- Collaborate with developers and QA engineers on testing and resolve defects.
- Promote software changes across all environments to production.
- Provide on-call technical support during and off business hours.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
- 5+ years of hands-on C/C++ development on Linux.
- 2+ years of scripting experience (Python, Perl, or Bash).
- Experience with C++ unit testing frameworks and continuous integration (CI) tools.
- Experience with code analysis and coverage tools (Coverity, Valgrind, gcov).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and multicast network protocols.
- Strong multithreading and performance-oriented programming skills.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) including prompting and code review.
