Responsibilities
- Cook food orders for breakfast in the Bistro.
- Maintain menu knowledge to answer questions and take orders.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly, maintaining positive guest relations.
- Compute bills, accept payments, track sales receipts, and report tips in the MICROS system.
- Clear and clean tables, and reset counters and tables.
- Maintain a clean and fully stocked bar area.
- Conduct weekly inventories of food, supplies, and equipment, and report low inventories.
- Ensure complete knowledge of all liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic selections, and their preparation and service.
- Prepare and serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests.
- Ensure knowledge of Starbucks menu and execution of all Starbucks beverages.
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
- Complete closing duties, including restocking, cleaning bar and Starbucks areas, and preparing for the morning shift.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 20-25 pounds without assistance.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate verbally and effectively with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to handle cash/credit transactions.
- Complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
- Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Able to work a flexible work schedule including rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of food & beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
- Basic knowledge of service of various alcoholic beverages.
Experience Level
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Education Level
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
