About the Role
This role involves washing pots, pans, dishes, and utensils, restocking kitchen supplies, managing trash and cardboard, monitoring dish machine temperatures and sanitizer concentrations, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas and equipment. The position also includes snow removal, fire extinguisher checks, and assisting with food preparation as needed.
Responsibilities
- Wash pots, pans, dishes, and utensils manually or with equipment.
- Restock pots, pans, dishware, and utensils in customer and back-of-house areas.
- Remove trash and cardboard from back-of-house and customer areas.
- Log temperatures of dish machines.
- Test the concentration of dishwasher sanitizing agents in sinks.
- Clean floors, mats, equipment, and work surfaces.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the chemical storage and mop room.
- Use commercial-strength chemicals for cleaning, sanitizing, and polishing.
- Shovel snow and salt doorways and loading dock entrances.
- Review fire extinguishers monthly for charging and usability.
- Assist in other areas with food preparation duties as needed.
- Perform any assigned duties based on business needs.
Requirements
- Ability to read at a level to comprehend product labels, recipes, and safety instructions.
- Ability to interact with customers, coworkers, and vendors diplomatically.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to perform routine tasks directed to the workstation.
- Lift 10 lbs. routinely.
- Lift 50 lbs. once a day to 10 times a week.
- Stand for the entire shift.
- Stoop, bend, push, and pull throughout a shift.
