About the Role
Responsible for courteous serving and safe preparation of food and beverages in a retail or residential dining location, ensuring all food sanitation procedures are followed. Assembles orders, uses various kitchen equipment, and restocks products. Assists with inventory, inspects food quality, and cleans work areas and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Take proper food and equipment temperatures.
- Serve courteously and prepare food and beverages safely.
- Follow all food sanitation procedures.
- Assemble orders according to customer requests or batch production.
- Use a variety of equipment including dough press, ovens, fryers, and warmers.
- Assemble boxes and prepare items for delivery or take out.
- Restock all products to ensure availability.
- Assist with counting inventory and recording product on hand.
- Inspect holding items for presentation and quality, removing expired items.
- Assist in other areas with food preparation duties as needed.
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, dining and service areas, dishware, utensils, and floors.
- Periodically break down and reassemble equipment for cleaning.
- Use commercial strength chemicals to clean, sanitize, and polish.
- Remove trash.
- May secure facilities at the end of service.
- Take ownership for the workstation utilizing student employee support.
- Perform any duties as assigned based on business needs.
Requirements
- Lift 10 lb. routinely.
- Stand for entire shift.
- Stoop, bend, push, pull throughout a shift.
- Lift 30 lb. occasionally.
Skills
- Computing skills for cash change, inventory, and portion calculations.
- Ability to read and comprehend product labels, recipes, and safety instructions.
- Ability to interact diplomatically with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to perform routine tasks directed to the workstation.
