This role involves becoming an expert in specific market verticals, influencing the product roadmap, and developing cross-product narratives to drive growth. It requires end-to-end ownership of the vertical business, including market strategy, product readiness, positioning, pipeline, and campaign performance.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vertical portfolio strategy, including business cases, opportunity sizing, segmentation, and investment priorities.
  • Own the vertical business number, defining scorecards for pipeline, win rate, attach, workflow adoption, product activation, and channel performance.
  • Become the market expert by understanding financial workflows, buying dynamics, regulatory requirements, technology ecosystems, and competitive landscapes of priority industries.
  • Influence the product roadmap by translating market evidence into clear product requirements.
  • Build industry-specific, cross-product narratives that package Ramp's offerings around vertical needs.
  • Own GTM strategy end-to-end, defining ICP, audience, positioning, claims, proof, channel strategy, launch plan, sales motion, and adoption plan.
  • Lead market-facing programs, representing Ramp through webinars, customer sessions, partner events, and advisory groups.
  • Improve sales effectiveness by building workflow-based pitch narratives, sales plays, proof points, competitive guidance, and demos.
  • Run the operating cadence, aligning Product, Growth, Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and Finance on progress and next steps.
  • Build the customer and partner feedback loop by developing relationships with finance leaders, operators, partners, and associations.
  • Create the verticalization playbook for a repeatable method of market entry and scaled investment.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in B2B software marketing, product marketing, industry marketing, growth, sales strategy, or another strategic GTM function, with significant ownership of product or industry outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience building GTM strategy for a specific industry or workflow-heavy market, with a strong point of view on verticalization.
  • Deep familiarity with at least one of the following: Construction or A&E software, accounting and ERP workflows, nonprofits, public sector, procurement, accounts payable, or financial operations.
  • A record of influencing product strategy using customer, competitive, market, and funnel evidence.
  • Experience owning integrated B2B campaigns from audience definition and brief through execution, measurement, and iteration.
  • Strong data literacy to interpret performance metrics and drive decisions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive business cases, market narratives, and sales plays.
  • Proven ability to lead senior partners across departments without formal authority.
  • High agency and comfort with ambiguity, with a bias for building, testing, and iterating quickly.
