Responsibilities
- Recruit and hire housekeeping personnel, prepare weekly schedules, and manage bi-weekly payroll.
- Monitor staff performance, provide counseling, and conduct ongoing training on job duties, hotel policies, and safety procedures.
- Establish and lead monthly departmental and daily pre-shift meetings.
- Ensure staff follow cleaning procedures, chemical usage guidelines, and guest room setup standards through daily inspections.
- Implement and maintain a hotel-wide deep cleaning program for guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
- Inspect public areas, grounds, storage rooms, kitchen, and employee work areas daily.
- Oversee laundry operations to meet productivity standards, ensure safety, and protect company assets.
- Enforce uniform standards and ensure staff are knowledgeable in guest interactions.
- Optimize daily housekeeping operations for room turnover, coordinating with the Front Desk to maximize guest service.
- Manage inventory levels for linens, chemicals, amenities, and supplies to ensure productivity and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure staff adherence to all safety and security procedures, including guest room entry, lost and found, key control, and reporting incidents.
- Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure hotel assets are functional and protected.
- Maintain a professional and positive leadership role, focusing on overall hotel operations and guest experience.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Hotel Manager or GM.
Requirements
- Must be hands-on at least 70% of the work time.
- Required to work weekends, nights, and holidays as necessary.
- Must be flexible with the work schedule based on business demands.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work for extended hours.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push a cart weighing up to 250 pounds.
