About the Role

You'll own Passage's data platform end to end. This is a high-leverage, high-trust seat where the models you build define how the company measures itself, and your stakeholders are leadership, marketing, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Model the business in dbt on BigQuery, owning a ~100-model project.
• Own metrics people rely on, including executive KPIs, conversion funnels, cohort analytics, and marketing attribution.
• Run the pipelines using Airflow 3 orchestration with Slack alerting, data-quality tests, freshness monitoring, and backfills.
• Serve the data through a dbt serving layer exposed through Hasura GraphQL and Metabase.
• Turn messy operational reality into trusted tables by digging into source systems and talking to stakeholders.
• Keep quality and cost in check through dbt tests, documentation, and BigQuery optimization.
• Document for humans and AI, ensuring auto-sync to a companion repo.

Requirements

• 4+ years building analytics or data platforms with expert-level SQL.
• Experience running dbt in production with strong dimensional modeling instincts.
• Experience operating an orchestrator (Airflow or similar) and comfort in Python.
• Enjoy ambiguous business-logic modeling, reverse-engineering schemas, and interviewing stakeholders.
• Ability to write documentation people actually use.
• Can own a platform solo: prioritize, communicate, and ship without a spec.
