About the Role

Milton CAT is seeking an experienced Sales Representative to manage sales and rentals of construction products within the Scrap, Waste, and Demolition industry in New York. The ideal candidate will act as a business consultant, building relationships and providing solutions that benefit both customers and the company. This role requires a self-motivated, analytical individual with a strong curiosity for customer operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build genuine, long-term customer relationships by understanding their business needs and challenges.
  • Maximize sales and rentals of Caterpillar equipment and work tools within a defined territory and customer list.
  • Analyze sales opportunities, solve customer problems, and participate in sales promotions.
  • Recommend solutions that create measurable value for the customer's business.
  • Maintain current product knowledge on equipment and work tools.
  • Monitor competitive activity and products.
  • Conduct new equipment field demonstrations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and evaluation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of financing options to assist customers.
  • Attend sales training, meetings, events, and seminars.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' field sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell on value and business impact using a consultative approach.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet customer needs.
  • Ability to understand and communicate basic financing with customers.
  • Proficient in computer use, including Word, Excel, and CRM systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to ask discovery-oriented questions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales reports.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding goals.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency and exceed customer expectations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage high-volume workflow.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Milton CAT territory and as needed outside the territory.
  • Previous heavy duty construction sales experience and Scrap Waste Demo Industry experience (preferred).

Salary/Compensations

  • $100,000-$150,000 base plus commission
