About the Role
Epic Client Systems Administrators (ECSA) are responsible for client facing applications and the back-end servers that support them. ECSAs maintain, troubleshoot, and fix servers that comprise the Web and Services stack, ensuring client applications are available to end users and maintained according to best practices. This role requires a high level of knowledge in Server Virtualization, Web Server administration, Software Deployment, and interoperability configuration.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary support contact for new development, technical issues, and general questions related to assigned applications.
- Maintain EPIC technical infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Epic to implement new projects.
- Manage application upgrades with Epic by setting timelines, maintaining communication, and addressing issues.
- Analyze and communicate the impact of known issues.
- Guide workflow design, build and test the system, and analyze technical issues associated with Epic software.
- Work with Epic representatives, the business community, and end-users to ensure the system meets business needs.
- Participate in training, work with end-users, and notify areas of new feature updates.
- Stay up to date on all releases and participate in the quarterly update process.
- Triage requests and determine the priority of issues.
- Resolve end-user application issues using Epic documentation.
- Collaborate across roles and teams to solve end-user problems.
- Escalate end-user problems to the appropriate level when necessary.
- Validate that solutions are complete and appropriately implemented.
- Identify and implement requested changes to the system.
- Follow established guidelines for system change control.
- Implement approved changes based on end-user priorities.
- Maintain system documentation to enable ongoing support.
- Identify revisions needed to existing Policies & Procedures and initiate the revision process.
- Hold ongoing communications with team members, department representatives, and leaders to discuss status, issues, concerns, budget, and milestones.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Applicants are required to take the Epic pre-requisite testing and meet acceptable scoring requirements.
- Epic certification is required.
- Two to four years of relative analyst experience, preferably within a large healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of multiple hospital department operations and computer applications is preferred.
- Experience with VMware, Microsoft Server Administration, Load Balancing, Web Services & Printing Server Management is preferred.
- Experience using Epic at any capacity is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical and business workflows in a hospital and ambulatory setting is highly preferred.
- Ability to maintain the highest standard of security with zero tolerance for breaches.
- Exceptional customer service and support skills are expected and required.
- Must be available and willing to work non-standard business hours such as evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must take after-hours call on rotation with other analysts.
