About the Role
The Senior Manager, Talent Management is responsible for developing strategic business partnerships to provide support and guidance on leadership development and talent management initiatives aimed at achieving business results through quality leadership. This role will focus on the employee development experience from onboarding through their career at Aviso.
Responsibilities
- Act as an internal consultant to HR business partners and managers at all levels in areas of talent acquisition and management, succession planning, skills development, needs assessment, learning and development offerings for high-potential talent, professional development, leadership assessment and development, performance management, and strategic planning to ensure talent development to achieve business objectives.
- Obtain buy-in from various business functions on key objectives and priorities through collaboration to develop and deliver a company-wide leadership model and framework focused on values and behaviors, to translate business strategy into leadership requirements.
- Establish talent assessment methods and determine organizational metrics to track talent health. Integrate talent management programs into Workday in partnership with the HR systems team. Refine and expand the succession planning and leadership management process for continuous improvement and effectiveness of Aviso leaders and ensure HR business partners are equipped to execute the process.
- Work closely with HR business partners to determine individual and team development requirements and develop plans by identifying, developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies and programs to support leadership development and strengthen the leadership pipeline.
- Analyze company talent data and develop materials for executive and board-level talent discussions. Collaborate with HR analytics and HR systems teams to leverage Workday and implement user-friendly, business-relevant reporting to support internal talent mobility.
- Determine, research, source, design, execute, and manage programs to meet leadership development needs, including personality assessments, 360-degree assessments, and transitional coaching, to achieve business results and increase effectiveness.
- Build career paths that enable employees to advance their careers at Aviso. Assist in orchestrating mobility between internal divisions in partnership with HR business partners and the business. Design and deliver a range of programs to support growth (e.g., mentoring, career coaching, integration of assessments, etc.).
- Lead the design and implementation of key initiatives, such as enterprise leadership development programs, programs, assessment strategies, and experiences to support leaders at all levels, with a focus on leadership programs for high-potential talent.
- Design cross-functional experiences to accelerate the development of targeted talent pools and manage special projects related to talent.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in talent management or organizational development.
- 7 to 10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a financial services organization.
- Post-secondary degree in any discipline; a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Human Resources and a Certified Human Resources Professional designation are assets.
- Key competencies: impactful communication, teamwork, critical thinking and decision-making, innovation and creativity, agility and resilience.
- Experienced professional who takes initiative to drive a project to completion with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in English required and French language skills, an asset to communicate with partners, clients, and colleagues across Canada.
- Experience with adult learning principles, talent development and assessment competencies and tools, an asset.
- Excellent program design, delivery, and management skills.
- Proven ability to quickly establish credibility at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership; conduct oneself with the confidence and gravitas expected of an executive.
- Experience managing multiple competing demands, with a sense of urgency and flexibility and agility as business priorities change; proactive.
- Excellent consulting, collaboration, and organizational and relationship management skills.
