About the Role
The Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Administrator reports directly to the Chief of Police and serves as the department’s designated authority responsible for CJIS compliance and governance. This role provides centralized oversight to ensure ongoing adherence to FBI and Texas DPS CJIS requirements, including the development and enforcement of policies, procedures, and internal controls. The CJIS Administrator also manages system access and information security for all sworn and non-sworn personnel, contractors, and vendors requiring CJIS access. This position plays a critical role in training and compliance tracking and is also responsible for audit preparation and risk management.
