About the Role
This internship offers hands-on experience in music-related transactions and corporate legal work, focusing on acquisitions, intellectual property, and compliance, with an emphasis on music catalog acquisitions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting and reviewing asset purchase agreements, letters of direction, and related transactional documents.
- Conduct legal research and due diligence on potential acquisition targets.
- Support the preparation and submission of copyright registrations with the U.S. Copyright Office.
- Aid in managing and maintaining corporate organizational documents and ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Review and revise non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
- Organize and track deal documents and legal correspondence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and A&R teams on transaction-related tasks.
- Provide administrative support for ongoing legal projects.
- Support additional tasks based on intern's interest and availability.
Requirements
- Strong interest in M&A, intellectual property, and the music/media industry.
- Excellent legal writing, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative mindset.
- Prior experience in transactional, corporate, or entertainment law is a plus.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
