About the Role
SANY is seeking an Intervention Support Specialist-MATH (Grades 5-7) for Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role involves providing engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards and utilizing data to drive instruction.
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging lesson plans that conform to the charter's curriculum, designed to meet state core educational standards.
- Possess a strong understanding of Common Core standards and state learning standards.
- Have the ability to modify, redesign, and develop curriculum as needed.
- Collaborate with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Prepare students for standardized tests relevant to the content area.
- Utilize analytics and data to drive instruction and promote learning.
- Provide excellent classroom management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- NYS Certified.
- Experience with a diverse population of students or in an urban setting is a plus.
- Prior teaching experience preferred; novice teachers are encouraged to apply.
- Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education.
- Possess a growth mindset, be flexible and okay with change.
