About the Role

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF) is seeking a Membership Marketing and Outreach Manager to lead the development and execution of membership marketing strategies. This role drives recruitment, strengthens member retention, and increases membership across 14 Clubhouses and Camp Mendocino.

Responsibilities

  • Build and refine annual, seasonal, and campaign-specific marketing plans across digital and traditional channels.
  • Serve as lead communicator, translating organizational goals into measurable recruitment, retention, and average daily attendance strategies.
  • Partner with Club and Program Leadership to adapt strategies based on local ecosystem data and community feedback.
  • Align website, email, social media, paid advertising, creative assets, and collateral with marketing efforts.
  • Meet regularly with leadership to review metrics and adjust tactics.
  • Represent BGCSF at events to build relationships with local schools, businesses, and organizations.
  • Lead information sessions and presentations for prospective members, families, and partners.
  • Partner with Club Leadership on recruitment events, member ambassador initiatives, orientation materials, and family engagement resources.
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance, recruitment, retention, and outreach across channels.
  • Deliver quarterly reports on data, ROI, trends, and recommendations.
  • Maintain organization-wide membership marketing templates, messaging toolkits, and outreach materials.
  • Equip Club staff with talking points and recruitment tools for consistent communication at events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related work experience.
  • Significant experience in recruitment, sales, or integrated marketing campaign execution.
  • Proven ability to collect, analyze, and apply data to distribution plans and strategies.
  • Strong oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies and prioritize workloads.
  • Ability to apply brand guidelines and best practices into innovative tactics.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel locally to recruitment events as needed.
  • Experience in youth development, education, or non-profit sectors (preferred).
  • Knowledge of or experience working within San Francisco communities (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Salesforce database systems (preferred).
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.
  • Candidates must complete LiveScan fingerprinting, a background check, and a tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test as part of the hiring process.

  • $64,000 – $79,000 / year
