About the Role

Manage transformative projects from inception through the pursuit and preconstruction contract phases. Collaborate with industry experts to guide multiple large, complex projects within a district, focusing on estimating, design development, and client relations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project pursuits in collaboration with proposal manager, lead estimator, business development manager, and project sponsor.
  • Identify opportunities and recommend partnerships for Company pursuits with the Business Development team.
  • Coordinate partnership teams to submit proposals within prescribed budgets and timelines.
  • Develop and manage pursuit timelines and deliverables.
  • Attend schedule and proposal meetings to ensure all necessary data and documentation are included in submissions.
  • Review design schedules and construction plans to identify cost-saving opportunities by adjusting quantities, estimating materials, or proposing alternative construction methods.
  • Collaborate with design managers to develop optimal technical solutions.
  • Develop project-specific client management strategies and manage client expectations and communication.
  • Work with engineers and estimators to develop budgets and secure final bid prices.
  • Support the hand-off between bid and construction teams for proper execution.
  • Assist the project management team with client relations during the initial phases of construction.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of construction industry experience related to project pursuits, including estimating, project management, or business development.
  • Alternative delivery experience.
  • Understanding of strategy, contracts, clients, and sub-contract negotiations.
  • Ability to identify and interpret risk strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience leading partnering and teaming agreements.
  • Understanding of cost estimating practices, development, and implementation.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
