About the Role

Green Empire Farms, a member of the Mastronardi Group of Companies, is seeking a Crop Care Supervisor to ensure greenhouse employees produce quality results efficiently. This role is accountable for the overall aesthetics of the greenhouse and provides support to the Labor Manager.

Responsibilities

• Ensure greenhouse work is completed in a timely and productive manner.
• Spend one-on-one time with employees to ensure greenhouse standards are met.
• Supervise yearly activities such as clean-out and planting of new crops.
• Establish work schedules and procedures, coordinating activities with other departments.
• Resolve work-related issues using company procedures, including progressive discipline.
• Prepare and submit quality reports to the Labor Manager.
• Participate in the hiring process.
• Complete employee reviews.
• Enforce all Health and Food Safety guidelines within the greenhouse.
• Complete necessary Health and Food Safety paperwork.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required.
• At least two years of supervisory experience required.
• Literacy with MS Office products and internet navigation.
• Physically capable of regular greenhouse activities, including walking, lifting, bending, and withstanding periods of high heat.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to take a leadership role and display personal initiative.
• Attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with/manage 30+ workers.
• General understanding or ability to be trained on the Priva Assist/FS labour system or similar.
