About the Role

The Associate Project Manager is responsible for managing small events or portions of larger projects, monitoring progress, resolving issues, and ensuring successful execution by adhering to technical and production standards. This role partners with project management leadership and communicates onsite event plans.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and deploying detailed work plans for events or projects.
  • Review and recommend equipment and labor requirements for events.
  • Analyze and manage project risk to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing outstanding customer service.
  • Supervise technical aspects of jobs and troubleshoot operational issues during setup, operation, and dismantle of audio-visual systems.
  • Assist with scheduling equipment deliveries and pickups.
  • Troubleshoot audio-visual and IT equipment.
  • Follow up with clients on-site to ensure needs are met and equipment is functioning properly.
  • Monitor events and check in on event sessions throughout the day.
  • Monitor cost control measures and report challenges to the Project Management team.
  • Assist with securing local internal resources to minimize external spend.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures to minimize liability.
  • Complete post-event processes, including reporting and workforce hour confirmation.
  • Assist in training and developing technicians to improve customer experience.
  • Achieve Technical Level 3 Certification per Encore Technical Skill Set Matrix within 180 days.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of knowledge of audio-visual or related technical skill set.
  • 1+ years on-site crew experience.
  • Venue audio-visual and strong technical background preferred.
  • Strong client relationship skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Ability to manage complex job functions within a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • MS Office experience required.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% may be required.

About the Company

  • Work is performed in a hotel/event venue environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust.
  • The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes.
  • Team members will use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components and will be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders.
  • Team members may be asked to work in multiple locations.
  • Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.
