About the Role
Able Innovations is seeking a high-energy, exceptionally organized Business Development Specialist to drive growth by supporting sales, partnerships, customer success, and on-site hospital activities. This role involves developing proposals, managing grant submissions, and travelling to support demonstrations, deployments, and meetings, offering broad experience in healthcare commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships and create new opportunities by understanding partner workflows, goals, and challenges to deliver lasting value.
- Research and qualify prospective customers, strategic partners, funding programs, and new market opportunities.
- Support outreach to hospitals, clinical leaders, executives, distributors, and industry partners.
- Develop relationships with stakeholders at every level.
- Coordinate sales meetings, product demonstrations, site visits, conferences, and follow-up activities.
- Prepare proposals, presentations, quotations, customer materials, and partnership documents.
- Ensure follow-ups, commitments, and next steps are completed to keep opportunities progressing.
- Maintain accurate and current information in CRM and project-tracking systems.
- Own important applications and proposals with exceptional attention to detail.
- Lead and coordinate government funding, procurement, partnership, and innovation programs from intake through submission.
- Maintain a live calendar of submission deadlines, required materials, reporting obligations, and milestones.
- Gather and organize input from commercial, finance, engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
- Draft, edit, and submit clear, accurate, and compelling applications and supporting documents.
- Build and maintain a library of company information, evidence, and reusable content.
- Support reporting and milestone tracking for successful applications.
- Get into the field by supporting customers through the full lifecycle.
- Travel to customer and partner locations throughout North America.
- Support hospital demonstrations, deployments, evaluations, training sessions, conferences, and customer meetings.
- Coordinate on-site schedules, equipment, documentation, logistics, and internal resources.
- Gather field observations and customer feedback and communicate them clearly to internal teams.
- Identify barriers to adoption and opportunities to improve customer workflows.
- Represent Able Innovations with professionalism, energy, curiosity, and good judgment.
Requirements
- 3+ years in a customer-facing commercial role (business development, sales, partnerships, customer success, or account management).
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outgoing, confident, and professional personality.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Comfort operating in an early-stage fast-paced environment where plans change and scope is not always defined.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines without supervision and without dropping commitments.
- Valid G2/G driver's license.
- Ability to travel across Canada and the United States without restrictions.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including short notice.
