About the Role
EVS Replay plays a key role in live sports production by supporting replay, highlights creation, clip management and playback for live production originating from the Toronto Broadcast Centre. Operators ensure timely access to game action and production elements in fast-paced live environments.
Responsibilities
- Operate EVS replay and playback systems during live sports productions and special events
- Capture, organize and retrieve game action, highlights and production elements for use during live broadcasts
- Support replay, clip creation, playback and media management workflows
- Work collaboratively with producers, directors and technical teams to support editorial and production requirements
- Support group effort for quality control from a technical perspective
- Assist with archiving and media management
- Monitor system functionality and escalate technical concerns when required
- Maintain strong awareness of live production priorities and changing editorial requirements
- Support evolving production workflows and operational initiatives
Requirements
- Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following areas: Broadcast playback and live production, Sports, news or entertainment production, Video Editing and media management, Control room or technical operations
- Previous EVS operating experience
- Formal EVS training, including EVS Broadcast Equipment training programs
- Experience supporting EVS during major sporting events or live event productions
- Experience in large scale broadcast environments
- Strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in the fast-paced live production environment at the CBC
