About the Role

The Maternelle & Lower School Instructional Support Teacher plays a vital role in ensuring instructional continuity and excellence across the Lower School. This educator provides high-quality classroom instruction, supports student learning, and contributes to the daily life of our bilingual, multicultural school community.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction in French and English classrooms during planned and unplanned teacher absences.
• Deliver lessons that align with the school's curriculum and maintain continuity of learning.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student growth and well-being.
• Build positive relationships with students across grade levels and become a trusted member of the Lower School community.
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, learning support staff, and administrators to ensure a seamless educational experience for students.
• Provide small-group or individualized instructional support when classroom coverage is not required.
• Support classroom management and reinforce school-wide expectations for student behavior.
• Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional learning, school events, and other community activities.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues and administrators regarding student progress and classroom needs.
• Demonstrate flexibility by supporting the evolving instructional needs of the Lower School throughout the school year.

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

• Authorization to work in the United States or eligibility to obtain appropriate work authorization or visa sponsorship.
• Fingerprinting and criminal background check required for all prospective staff.
