About the Role
The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. Investors come to Morgan Stanley for sales, trading, and market-making services in almost every type of financial instrument. Our professionals provide liquidity and content to clients around the world, actively assessing and managing risk, trading securities, and planning and executing transactions in the fast-changing markets. As the needs of our clients become increasingly complex, we often develop customized solutions.
Responsibilities
- Generate ideas and opportunities for new and existing clients in response to relevant market themes and dislocations
- Develop & maintain tools, quantitative metrics and signals for identifying sales opportunities
- Establish/maintain a strong connection with various sales and trading desks across the Fixed Income business
- Communicate opportunities to sales & clients, with a view to generate flow for the rates business
- Interact with partners in other fixed income divisions (FX, credit, commodities) to identify opportunities to collaborate and cross-sell
Requirements
- Relevant experience working with or for UK or Insurers, with a particular focus on Rates/Fixed Income topics
- Fundamental knowledge of European Insurance regulation, or a proven ability to learn complex topics quickly
- Proven ability to multitask and work with different clients across different products and situations in a fast-paced work environment
- Highly team oriented, commercially driven, and overall eagerness to learn
- Strong problem-solving skills, easily able to navigate and simplify complex processes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Self-starter, entrepreneurial spirit, with experience in doing in-depth research or development on new topics
- A core interest in Financial Markets
- This role is deemed as a Certified role and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
