About the Role
Provides clinical and clerical support to ensure smooth daily operations in an assigned medical practice, preparing patients and examination areas for appointments.
Responsibilities
- Greets patients, performs intake activities, and documents information including vital signs, medications, and allergies.
- Transcribes and updates patient information, including demographic, medication, social, and medical history.
- Provides clerical support, prepares patient charts, and completes paperwork such as disability forms.
- Performs EMR Orders Reconciliation as assigned.
- Ensures examination areas are clean, stocked, and performs environmental rounds.
- Prepares patients for visits to maintain timely patient flow, ensuring necessary materials are available for providers.
- Conducts in-office testing and coordinates ancillary services.
- Collects, prepares, and processes specimens, logging results and reconciling them in patient records.
- Maintains inventory and ensures proper upkeep, cleaning, and testing of medical equipment and supplies.
- Coaches and educates colleagues on procedures and techniques.
- Performs pathology and other audits as assigned.
- Demonstrates competencies for in-office surgical procedures, including setup, patient preparation, recovery, and room turnover.
- Interacts with patients and colleagues according to service excellence standards.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities.
- Maintains and models Nuvance Health Foundational Values.
- Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- 1 year MA experience OR MA Certification OR EMT Certification OR 3 years relevant healthcare experience including vitals, blood, rooming and patient care.
- Reliable transportation.
Skills
- CPR certification preferred.
