About the Role

Provides clinical and clerical support to assure smooth daily department operations in assigned medical practices. Ensures the patient and examination area is properly prepared.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and escorts patients from the waiting room to the clinical area, ensuring proper patient identification.
  • Performs clinical intake activities and documents patient information.
  • Transcribes and updates patient demographic, medication history, social, and medical history.
  • Provides clerical and secretarial support for patient care, including preparing patient charts and completing paperwork.
  • Performs and stays current with EMR Orders Reconciliation.
  • Ensures the examination area is clean and stocked after each patient use.
  • Prepares patients for scheduled visits to maintain timely patient flow.
  • Conducts in-office testing as directed by the clinician and coordinates ancillary services.
  • Collects, prepares, and processes specimens as directed by the clinician.
  • Contacts patients for follow-up, test results, or clinician instructions.
  • Maintains inventory and ensures proper upkeep of medical equipment and supplies.
  • Communicates and documents electronic messages effectively.
  • Assists in the training of new staff.
  • Demonstrates and maintains practice-based competencies for in-office clinical procedures.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Maintains and models the Organization’s values.
  • Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required within the scope of practice.

Requirements

  • 1 year MA experience OR MA Certification OR EMT Certification OR 3 Full Years of healthcare related experience including vitals, blood, rooming and patient care.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic medical knowledge and terminology.
  • Data entry required.
  • Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vital signs.
  • BLS Certification is required within 30 days.
  • Ability to travel between practices as needed.
