About the Role

Flad Architects is seeking an on-site Construction Administrator to support complex challenges at UC-Berkeley, California. This role offers a collaborative environment where individual ideas, experience, and creativity are celebrated.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site observations of facilities.
• Manage general project and contract administration.
• Process payment requests and change approvals.
• Provide prompt service regarding interpretations, decisions, and construction bulletins.
• Review and evaluate RFIs and submittals, escalating issues to design team members.
• Monitor construction changes, shop drawings, and other contractor submissions.
• Review shop drawings, reject non-conforming work, and document issues with corrective action reports or non-conforming work notices.
• Coordinate outside consultants as needed.
• Facilitate timely communication between owner, contractor, project manager, and other team members.
• Advise Flad team members of services needed during construction.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of Construction Administration experience on large-scale commercial projects (concrete, steel, etc.) required; ten years preferred.
• Skilled at collaboration, attention to detail, and communication.
• Understanding of sustainable design principles.
• Prior experience with LEED or Green Globes rating systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
• Experience in web-based project management programs required.
