About the Role
The Awards Assistant aids in the delivery and project management of the D&AD Awards programme. This role involves supporting the Awards Manager with judge communications, administrative tasks, operations, research, and reporting, while also assisting the wider team with ad hoc duties.
Responsibilities
- Support the Awards Manager to deliver the communications plan for D&AD Awards programmes.
- Invite industry figureheads to participate in judging.
- Communicate with judges via email and phone.
- Handle urgent queries during live judging.
- Contact entrants with requests and queries.
- Apply video editing or design skills to Awards communications.
- Collate, proof, and display Judge profiles.
- Create Judge records.
- Prepare judging schedules and communicate them to relevant parties.
- Provide on-site event support during live judging.
- Support the Awards team with credit proofing and rankings data.
- Create Awards material, such as entry kits and decks.
- Book accommodation and travel where necessary.
- Supply suggested speakers for Judge Insight sessions, ad hoc events, and the D&AD Festival.
- Undertake research to inform product development.
- Undertake research for competitor analysis.
- Support the selection of Judges under the supervision of the Awards Manager.
- Monitor diversity of Awards Judges across all programmes.
- Analyze Judge queries to inform Awards development.
- Recommend process changes to improve efficiencies.
- Identify and report on category trends.
- Prepare reports, presentations, correspondence, and other requested documents.
- Accurately catalogue, store, process, and warehouse awards entries.
- Facilitate juries by acting as Jury Co-host when required.
- Support the Awards Operations team when required.
- Support judging, both virtual and on-site.
- Answer queries where necessary.
- Support the Awards team and other departments with ad hoc tasks.
Requirements
- Must be free to work over D&AD Awards Judging and Festival dates (Saturday 23 to Wednesday 26 May 2027, Sunday 27 June to Wednesday 1 July 2027).
- Willingness to develop knowledge of industry luminaries, influencers, and experts for judge recommendations.
- Ability to multitask and support team members during busy months (March-May).
- External outreach to the industry for Judge recommendations, invitations, and category development.
- Internal communications with the Awards team on a weekly basis.
- Attend a monthly All Staffer meeting.
- Provide appropriate documentation to prove eligibility to work in the UK.
