About the Role
As a Senior Estimator, you will provide advice, leadership, and direction, actively embedding and promoting the purpose, values, and vision of Turner & Townsend. You will be involved in producing, presenting, and defending construction cost plans and estimates for key infrastructure clients, developing complex engineering projects from feasibility to detailed design.
Responsibilities
- Producing, presenting, and defending construction cost plans and cost estimates for key infrastructure clients developing complex engineering projects from feasibility/concept design up to detailed design (pre-tender estimates).
- Reviewing and validating cost submissions from General Contractor(s) within a Progressive Design Build contractual environment as part of Target Cost/Price Development.
- Challenging General Contractor’s cost build-ups and associated assumptions when necessary.
- Providing costings of options and presenting these as part of project Optioneering stages.
- Providing cost reconciliation cost estimates including associated justification to be presented to project clients and key stakeholders.
- Engaging in value engineering workshops to identify cost savings and optimum solutions for the client.
- Producing cost benchmarks for validation and target-setting on major infrastructure projects.
- Actively interfacing with project clients, key stakeholders, contractors, and consultants (engineering, etc.) providing cost advice during all project stages.
- Working in close collaboration with high performing project teams to ensure expectations are managed adequately and clients’ goals are achieved.
- Reviewing and validating contractor cost submissions within Progressive Design-Build environment, particularly for rail systems and M&E packages.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years post-graduate experience in construction cost estimating specializing in M&E infrastructure and rail systems.
- Self-motivated, driven, and capable of working both independently and as part of a high-performing team.
- Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering / Construction Management Degree and/or Certification or equivalent.
- 8 - 15 years’ experience in cost estimating positions across pre-contract/post-contract phases of infrastructure projects.
- Membership of professional organisations is a bonus (e.g., CIQS / RICS / AACE).
- Bilingual capability in English and French is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of rail systems estimating methodologies, procurement and installation approaches, and key testing, commissioning, integration and handover cost drivers.

Salary/Compensations
- $95,000 - $145,000 per year
