About the Role
Play a vital role in ensuring students receive the meals they need to learn and thrive by delivering food and supplies between schools in a company vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive a company vehicle to deliver food and supplies between schools in the district.
- Load and unload products with care, ensuring proper storage and delivery.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and keep accurate logs and reports.
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean and in excellent working condition.
- Communicate with the central office as needed to ensure timely, accurate deliveries.
- Follow all local driving laws and school district policies.
- Operates the company vehicle safely and in full compliance with all motor vehicle laws, school district delivery policies, and Whitsons fleet protocols at all times.
- Completes all assigned deliveries accurately and on schedule; maintains consistent attendance, follows assigned routes, and meets all reporting and documentation requirements every shift.
- Ensures product is correctly loaded, transported, and delivered; completes vehicle logs, odometer records, and delivery receipts with accuracy.
- Represents Whitsons positively at all school locations; follows all district-specific delivery protocols and maintains a clean, well-kept vehicle and professional appearance at all times.
Requirements
- A clean, valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Dependability and strong attention to detail.
- Comfort with lifting and moving supplies.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to follow safety guidelines.
- Professionalism when interacting at school sites.
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience required.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English sufficient to understand route instructions, complete required logs and reports, and communicate with school and office staff.
- Must adhere to all motor vehicle laws and regulations at all times.
- Must always present a professional image and follow all Whitsons policies and procedures.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently, including while turning side to side.
