About the Role
As a family and carer volunteer, you will use your own experiences of living with or supporting someone with co-existing mental health and substance misuse conditions to promote hope and support to others. You will provide a safe, non-judgmental space for them to express anxieties and share experiences.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with recovery workers to identify carers who may benefit from additional support.
- Take the lead on creating a support group, encouraging members' involvement and input.
- Act as a positive role model, motivating group members to build resilience.
- Receive all necessary skills, training, and support for the role.
- Receive regular supervision, Reflective Practice/Clinical Supervision, and on-site guidance.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level.
