About the Role
Adobe is seeking a strategic HR Director to enable the continued growth of the Japan business. This leader will provide strategic leadership and partnership to the Japan President and business leaders, elevating the Employee Experience in Japan. Responsibilities include developing regional organizational and people strategies, ensuring operational rigor, and overseeing HR Business Partner strategy for Sales and Marketing, Professional Services, and Customer Experience teams. This role is a key member of the Japan Leadership Team, driving people and culture initiatives and aligning Employee Experience priorities with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Ensure organizational alignment and effectiveness through effective partnership with all business functions.
- Serve as a trusted senior business partner to senior leaders to drive overall organizational effectiveness.
- Provide thought leadership in workforce planning, organizational design, resource/OpEx allocation, performance optimization, performance management, talent assessment & engagement, business integration (M&A), and change management leadership.
- Provide objective data-based perspectives on organizational and People Resources issues, recommending and implementing appropriate strategies.
- Provide leadership in organizational design, organizational development, talent development, change management processes, and process re-engineering.
- Partner with senior executives to diagnose complex organizational design and development needs, facilitating discussions and problem-solving.
- Design the strategy for employee and organizational capabilities.
- Drive the talent management process, alignment of resources to top priorities, and build capabilities needed to achieve a stated vision and strategy.
- Sustain and advance positive organizational culture in alignment with Adobe values.
- Advise and challenge senior leaders to stretch the organization and build capability for future growth.

Requirements
- 15+ years of HR experience including team management and serving as an HR Business Partner to senior leaders in a global, matrixed organization.
- Strong business insight, connecting people strategies to company priorities.
- Proven experience operating in the Japan market, with strong understanding of local business dynamics, culture, and stakeholder expectations.
- Proven experience in organizational development and leading through change.
- Proven ability to develop relationships and partnerships at all levels of the organization, including influencing and coaching senior leaders.
- Ability to influence across levels, roles, cultures, and geographies.
- Experience designing, implementing, and leading large initiatives.
- Strategic outlook with a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Agility to navigate ambiguity and prioritize effectively.
- Energy, drive, and commitment to the task.
- Speed and agility are critical.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills both in English and Japanese.
