About the Role

We are seeking a caretaker / janitor (m/f/d) for our properties in Berlin, who will ensure a well-maintained and safe condition with technical understanding, manual dexterity, and a sense of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, and monitoring of building technology systems
• Carrying out and organizing repairs and maintenance measures
• Regular property inspections for defect detection
• Taking over substitute tasks during vacation and illness
• Documenting defects and rectifying or forwarding faults
• Supervising service providers (e.g., cleaning, winter service, grounds maintenance)
• Technical support and ensuring smooth operation
• Checking compliance with safety regulations and standards
• Contact person for tenants regarding technical issues
• Regular property inspections and ensuring property quality and proper condition

Requirements

• Ideally, a vocational training in a trade, e.g., in electrical, heating, sanitary, air conditioning, or mechanical engineering, or a comparable qualification in building and facility technology
• Technical understanding and manual dexterity
• Experience in property management, ideally as a janitor, facility technician, or property caretaker of real estate
• Basic IT skills and proficient use of smartphone and tablet
• Good German language skills, both written and spoken
• Strong communication skills, teamwork ability, and sociability
• Sense of responsibility and professional interaction with tenants, service providers, and colleagues
• Driver's license class B
