About the Role

LCP Delta is seeking an experienced consultant to analyze the evolving European residential energy retail landscape, focusing on the intersection of energy retail, customer propositions, electrification, flexibility, and digital services. This role offers an opportunity to develop insights that guide energy companies' strategic decisions and support a key growth area for LCP Delta.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver, and manage research and consulting projects on residential energy retail, retail strategy, smart propositions, and customer-side flexibility.
  • Lead research using qualitative and quantitative methods, including expert interviews, market analysis, desk research, and data analysis.
  • Produce clear and engaging client outputs such as reports, viewpoints, databases, and presentations.
  • Communicate insights to clients via meetings, presentations, email, and webinars.
  • Manage projects, budgets, and client relationships.
  • Build relationships with industry contacts to enhance market insight and business development.
  • Identify emerging trends and translate them into client-relevant insights.
  • Provide expert opinions on energy retail to clients and colleagues.
  • Support business development activities, including lead generation, opportunity scoping, and proposal development.
  • Mentor less-experienced analysts in developing their expertise and skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Residential Smart Energy team and related teams (EVs, heat, flexibility).

Requirements

  • Proven experience in energy retail strategy, either within an energy retailer or through consulting, research, or a related role.
  • Solid research skills, including experience with expert interviews, desk-based research, data analysis, and synthesis.
  • Experience managing research or consultancy projects, including coordinating project teams and deadlines.
  • Excellent client management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to understand client needs.
  • Curiosity and a desire to listen and learn from industry contacts.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to transform complex information into clear, commercially useful insights.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build a compelling narrative.
  • Team player with collaborative skills, ability to set standards, build relationships, and provide feedback.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and multiple deadlines.
  • Commercial acumen to think commercially about client needs.
  • Ability to attend events and confidence to network.
  • Alignment with company values.
